St. John Armenian Church, named after St. John the Baptist & Forerunner of Christ our God, has for over 75 years been at the very center of Armenian-American religious and cultural life in Metropolitan Detroit.
Today St. John Armenian Church remains a dynamic ecclesiastical community. SJAC offers numerous educational programs and opportunities for Christians to grow in their faith and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
These opportunities include: Children's Church School, Bible Studies, Lenten Retreats, the renowned Komitas Choir, a new Armenian Cultural Program, as well as a world class Museum and Library. SJAC is involved in Ecumenical endeavors with other Orthodox, Catholics and Protestants. SJAC also sponsors programs for relief of the poor, both here in the USA and back in our Armenian Fatherland.
Most importantly, as Orthodox Christians, we place the greatest emphasis on honoring and worshipping our Creator, the All Holy Trinity. This greatest of all emphasis is reflected in the Mystery and Beauty offered to God every Sunday in our Divine Liturgy and Canonical Services.
You are invited to come to St. John Armenian Church and witness this profound Mystery and Beauty in our Divine Services and to join us in lifting our voices in praise and thankfulness to our loving Creator.
